The moment being the moment, the life being the life, each moment is always once-in-a-lifetime.
I always think that the people and scenery, which slowly develop on the negatives, have stolen a second of the time. What state would be such a second reflect?
The client is a freelance photographer who sojourned in Japan for years. When returning home, he set up a customized photo studio. Since it was the thirteenth year that he had become a photographer, he named the studio “Kawa, Thirteen”. The client hoped that the design could manifest Japanese imagery.
I chose “moment” as a starting point and the Chinese characters of “Kawa, Thirteen” as the main part of the design, while “the moment blown away by winds” was my understanding and imagery positioning of the case. The design, into which “time” was integrated, appears to be Buddhist.
Later in material design, the concept of “moment” was also mentioned repeatedly, while the falling petals of cherry blossoms were regarded as elements with presentative characteristics, which further underscored the concept of “wind” and “Japanese sense”.
The whole design was relatively bold, and in order to persuade the client we also had many communications with him. The client worried that it would be difficult to do the latter material design of the logo; however, since there were not so many visual identity items, I don’t think it would be very difficult in application.
While the autumn breeze will not stop, the fallen leaves have become frozen in a frame.
